ESL in the Mainstream

Unlocking the World through ESL education

In 2009, I was certified and accredited in Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms, Language in Learning across the Curriculum by the Government of South Australia’s Education and Children’s Services Department. Throughout this 12 week course, I developed skills in using, interpreting, producing and assessing oral, visual and written texts for learning and teaching of ESL students. I also gained skills in programming and whole-school models of support for ESL students which I employed and implemented across my department. These models of best practice are now planned to be integrated into the whole-school Development Plan for next year.

Please see ESL Module 6 Activity Homework.2 for an example of one of my modeled implemented resources.

Please see here and here for more info on the course.
